NKYdroneLAB Selected by URISA as Distinguished System (Letter from URISA)

August 31, 2018

August 2, 2018

Trisha W. Brush, GISP
Director of GIS Services
Kenton and Campbell Counties of Kentucky
2332 Royal Drive
Fort Mitchell KY 41017-2088

Dear Trisha:

Congratulations! I am so pleased to inform you that “NKYdroneLAB” has been selected by URISA’s Exemplary Systems in Government (ESIG) Review Committee to receive recognition as a Distinguished System.

Of the Single Process submissions this year, one system was reviewed as Exemplary and two were deemed Distinguished Systems. All recognized systems will soon be posted online and a press release will be distributed.

The ESIG Award recipients will be officially recognized during the 2018 Awards Breakfast taking place on Thursday, October 11, from 8:00–10:00AM during GIS-Pro & CalGIS 2018 in Palm Springs, California.
Hopefully, you have already made plans to attend? If you need further incentive, URISA is pleased to offer one person from your system a free registration to attend the full conference.

We’d like to provide the winners with the opportunity to record a short video to be played during the awards breakfast. A few videos from last year’s winners are online. I think the teams had a good time putting the videos together.

Further, if we can find an appropriate session on the program, are you willing to put together a 15 minute presentation to share your system with the attendees?

We might also plan to showcase your award winning system within a 30-45 minute webinar format later in the year. This is an opportunity for you to go into greater detail about your award winning system with the entire URISA membership, if interested.

In order to ensure timely communication with all recipients of ESIG awards, please respond to this letter by e-mail to URISA’s Executive Director, Wendy Nelson (wnelson@urisa.org), indicating: (a) your acceptance of the recognition; (b) expected attendance at the 2018 URISA GIS-Pro Awards Ceremony; (c) your interest in presenting within a session at the conference.

Congratulations and thank you for sharing with the URISA community your valuable experience and the results of your efforts!

Sincerely,
Duncan Rowe
